Carlisle Cemetery

I have been recording the names on the gravestones in Carlisle's Richardson Street cemetery, the city's main burial place since 1855.

I have produced a surname index to the 20,000 names that I have so far recorded.
This is an ongoing project: by December 2004 I hope to have recorded all the pre-1950 names in the cemetery.

The index is free.
There is a charge of £4 for a full transcription of the headstone, plus a map locating the stone in the cemetery.
For £10, you can have a full transcription, map and set of photos of the stone.
